Outreach Activities: Camden, New Jersey

(08-06-07) - 200,000 cases of produce, including pineapple, bananas and mango, are imported each week from Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Ecuador at the Del Monte Produce facility in Camden toured by HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt and FDA Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach. Prior to shipment, the produce are evaluated and then tested for quality at the port of entry in New Jersey.
